Forget George Washington, James Madison, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln—nothing meaningful happened in America before 1877.
That’s the lesson North Carolina public high schools may start teaching. Under proposed changes in their high school history curriculum, the U.S. History course (which seniors take) will cover events from 1877 forward only.
It will be as if the American Founding never happened.

that’s the thing about free speech- it is a double edged sword that cuts both ways………we can sort through the scores laid out- and choose our own path…..or follow the one we are “told” to follow………..
1 month agoThe difference is that I believe in an individual’s liberty to choose among opinions for themselves. I am not for laws restricting speech. There is no double edged sword in regard to speech. There is only the sword that is intolerant of others’ views and seeks to control those views with political pressure, laws, or violence.
